When promoting an inclusive message there is no substitute for a live inclusive performance. Seeing and hearing live results is the most effective way to change expectations and deepen understanding. It is also the most fun.
Swan Street Collective
An ensemble opportunity for young disabled people; now recruiting for 2019.
If you’re 13-21, from Greater Manchester and have a musical flair – this is a great opportunity to explore ways to make music, meet new people, and have fun!
This free project will be run by a team of professional musicians led by our director Kenton Mann. Family and carers are welcome to stay and observe sessions.
As a Collective you’ll work together to create new music using a variety of instruments, and in a variety of styles and genres.
Sessions will involve experimentation, improvisation and composition. You’ll also work with Drake Music Lab North to adapt and develop brand new accessible instruments for the Collective.
The project will finish with a special performance in the Barbirolli Room at the Bridgewater Hall.
